C. Lockout Tagout Procedures
Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) is the physical restraint of all hazardous energy sources that supply power to a piece of equipment, machinery or system. LOTO also includes applying a Warning Tag on the physical restraint device.

Workers must be trained in the purpose and function of the energy control program and have the knowledge and skills required for the safe application, usage and removal of the energy control devices.

2. Apply OSHA lockout/tagout requirements for complex, multi-source, and network systems 4
A complex lockout/tagout usually involves more than one source of energy and often involves more than one single disconnecting means. For the complex lockout/tagout, the person in charge shall have responsibility of the overall project and a written plan prepared before each lockout/tagout application.
